Vestas Technology & Operations, R&D Generator, in Porto, Portugal, invites applications for a generator engineer to join our mechanical/structural team in a hybrid role.

You will develop generator solutions, perform structural design and validation, and collaborate with experts and project managers across global locations. The role requires a solid engineering background and hands-on experience with ANSYS and DFMEA.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or structural engineering.
• 3–5 years in product development and structural engineering.
• Experience in design of steel structures, incl. base materials, castings, weldments and bolted connections.
• Proficient in structural assessment using FEA (ANSYS). Includes static/dynamic, extreme/fatigue and modal analyses.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Six-Sigma tools, e.g., DFMEA.
• Experience managing complex problems in a global project organisation.
• Strong documentation and communication of technical work.

Responsabilidades

• Product development from requirements and early concept to detailed design and verification.
• Product maintenance, incl. improvements and cost-out opportunities.
• Stakeholder management, involving external suppliers globally.
• Planning of own work in Jira.
