SIXT, a global mobility leader, seeks an Engineering Manager in Lisbon to lead Strategic Fleet Planning software. You will deliver end-to-end solutions by partnering with Product, Data Science, and Business stakeholders, and grow a colocated team in Portugal.

You will coach engineers toward full-stack ownership, drive AI-adoption initiatives, and own cross-cutting initiatives like security, while aligning roadmaps with business impact and delivering value in a hybrid work setup.

Qualificações

• Proven track record of building and growing software engineering teams shipping decision-support or optimization systems.
• Hands-on production experience in Java or Go on AWS; strong with PostgreSQL and Kafka; ability to navigate legacy PHP/Oracle when needed.
• Experience running AI-assisted engineering workflows and evaluating AI output for engineering judgment.
• Led backend engineers toward full-stack ownership and UI familiarity.
• Excellent communication with engineers and business stakeholders across time zones.
• Builds trust with distributed or remote teams and manages feedback constructively.

Responsabilidades

• Own end-to-end delivery of Strategic Fleet Planning, aligning with Product, Data Science and stakeholders.
• Lead and grow a colocated engineering team in Portugal, coaching and empowering technical decisions.
• Take on rotating high-impact engineering work across SIXT's tech stack as priorities shift.
• Collaborate with peer EMs on cross-cutting initiatives like AI adoption and security.
• Act as a true product partner, challenging low-value asks and owning backlog impact.
• Adapt to shifting roadmaps without isolating IT from business.
