INSCALE is seeking an Engineering Manager in Portugal to lead a team of about 15 Software Engineers, focusing on people leadership, engagement, and growth. You will partner with the Engineering Director and Management Team to strengthen the software function and standardize ways of working across teams and locations.

The role emphasizes coaching, performance conversations, and career development, with a focus on building a safe and motivating environment.

Qualificações

• Prior people management experience (1–3 years minimum).
• Proven experience leading and developing teams, coaching, mentoring, and trust-building.
• Experience in Performance Management: set expectations, conduct 1:1s, manage reviews fairly.
• Technical literacy: understanding of architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, and engineering workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, coach, and develop Software Engineers.
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings focused on performance and growth.
• Create a psychologically safe, motivating work environment.
• Collaborate with engineers to set development goals and plans.
• Handle employee relations and address performance issues as needed.
• Build strong relationships with Scrum Masters, PMs, Product Owners, and Architects.
• Ensure collaboration between people management and product delivery.
