Job summary

Discord is establishing its first engineering hub in Lisbon, and this founding IT role will stand up the regional technology surface for EMEA from the Lisbon office. You will lead identity, device management, network, AV, and SaaS environments, and automate workflows across vendors and platforms.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years managing IT systems in high-growth tech, strong written communication, and a proactive, autonomous mindset.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience across identity, device management and security.
• Ability to operate independently through ambiguity in a fast-growing tech environment.
• Automation chops with scripting and no-code/low-code workflows.

Responsibilities

• Stand up IT for the Lisbon region and establish the local and regional IT footprint.
• Own end-to-end regional IT surface: identity, device mgmt, networking, AV, SaaS.
• Script and integrate systems using APIs and automation; write glue code.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding for the region and ensure day-one readiness.
• Be the EMEA coverage anchor across time zones and maintain async handoffs with San Francisco.
• Identify recurring issues, automate them, and measure time and risk saved.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
