STRYPES, a Dutch-Portuguese software development company with offices in Lisbon and Porto, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the team. The role involves developing embedded software, Linux-based projects, drivers, and RTOS components in a hybrid work setting, with regular office visits in Lisbon or Porto.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering, C/C++/Python, OO programming, and Linux, plus a proactive mindset and good communication in English.

Qualificações

• Engineering or similar background in Software, Electronics, Physics or Mathematics.
• Proficiency in C/C++/Python or other embedded/systems language.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and a GNU/Linux background.

We are a Dutch-Portuguese software development company, home-based in Lisbon and Porto. We focus on the development of a wide range of innovative embedded software solutions, including embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, and bare-metal applications, while also covering operating systems, board support packages and device driver development. Your daily responsibilities include:

• Perform any of the activities of a software development life cycle: analyze, design, develop, test, debug, profile, and maintain embedded software, potentially encompassing applications, device drivers, network stacks, board support packages, real-time operating systems, and bare-metal executives;
• Produce technical documentation as required;
• Interface with clients and partners to understand their wants and needs.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Academic background in Engineering or similar (Software, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics)
• Knowledge of C/C++/Python or other programming language used in embedded/systems programming context.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Preferably with a GNU/Linux background
• Proactive attitude, critical thinker, and problem solver
• Motivated individual with the ability to think outside the box.
• Good communication skills in English.

Our recruitment process

consists of three distinct steps, each designed to assess different aspects of a candidate's qualifications, skills, and alignment with the organization.

Stage 1 - 30-minute conversation with recruiter.
Stage 2 - 1-hour technical conversation with members of the engineering team.
Stage 3 - 1-hour conversation with PM or CEO.
