Job summary

ALTEN Portugal is seeking an Electrotechnical Engineer to support electrical design projects in Lisbon. The role centers on analyzing P&ID schematics, developing electrical workflows, and performing technical calculations to meet project requirements and industry standards.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 2–6 years of related experience, preferably in industrial or process environments.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–6 years of professional experience in electrical design or electrotechnical engineering.
• Experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, or process plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate P&ID schematics focusing on electrical components and workflows.
• Develop and optimize electrical workflows including power distribution and control systems.
• Build and maintain detailed MTO documents for electrical materials (cables, panels, switchgear).
• Perform electrical design calculations (load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies).
• Create electrical project layouts (single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment placement).
• Conduct critical reviews of technical documentation for compliance with standards.

We are seeking an Electrotechnical Engineer to support and review electrical design projects. This role will focus on analyzing P&ID schematics, developing electrical workflows, and performing technical calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and validate P&ID schematics with a focus on electrical components, ensuring accurate representation of electrical workflows, instrumentation, and system integration.
• Develop and optimize electrical workflows, including power distribution, control systems, and automation processes, in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Build and maintain detailed MTO documents for electrical materials, including cables, panels, switchgear, and other components, ensuring accuracy for procurement and installation.
• Perform electrical design calculations, such as load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, and coordination studies, to ensure system reliability and safety.
• Create electrical project layouts, including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment placement plans, aligned with process and operational needs.
• Conduct critical reviews of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, created internally or provided by suppliers, to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• 2–6 years of professional experience in electrical design or electrotechnical engineering, preferably in industrial, pharmaceutical, or process plant environments.
• Proven track record in electrical project layouts, P&ID schematics analysis, and electrical workflows.
• Experience in electrical design calculations.
