Job summary

JAM is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the electrical delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project in Portugal. As a client-side oversight role, you will manage contractors, monitor progress and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will coordinate with GC, subcontractors and vendors, review schedules and technical docs, identify risks and implement mitigation, and liaise with stakeholders through commissioning to handover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong technical understanding of mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
• Experience in PMC/consultancy/client-side environments preferred.
• Experience managing General Contractors and multiple electrical work packages.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager tooversee the electrical delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project.

This is a client-side oversight role, focused on managing contractors, monitoring progress and ensuring successful project delivery, rather than hands-on construction management typically associated with a General Contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all electrical works across the data centre project, ensuring delivery aligns with programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Manage and coordinate General Contractors, electrical subcontractors and specialist vendors.
• Monitor installation and delivery of critical electrical infrastructure, including MV/LV systems, switchgear, UPS, generators and power distribution.
• Review project schedules, construction progress, technical documentation and contractor performance.
• Identify potential delays, technical issues and project risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, CSA, Commissioning and other project stakeholders.
• Represent the client's interests throughout construction, commissioning and final handover.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong technical understanding of mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
• Previous experience working within a PMC, consultancy, developer or client-side environment preferred.
• Experience managing General Contractors and overseeing multiple electrical work packages.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, quality assurance and commissioning processes.
