Job summary

Addvolt, part of the Carrier group, seeks a Mechanical Engineer specialized in diesel engines to advance hybrid and diesel power sources for transport refrigeration. You will integrate engines, assess performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across systems, controls, and suppliers in a global context.

The role focuses on reliable, lower-emission transport solutions, with strong emphasis on mechanical design, validation, and continuous improvement of hybrid architectures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical/Automotive or related field.
• 3–5+ years in diesel-engine integration or powertrain engineering.
• Strong knowledge of IC engines and related subsystems.
• Experience with generator systems and mobile energy systems.
• Experience with engine maps and fuel consumption data.
• Proficient in mechanical design and 3D CAD tools (Creo preferred).
• Experience with engine or powertrain testing and validation.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Support diesel-engine power-source concepts for transport refrigeration platforms.
• Define mechanical and thermal requirements for engines and subsystems.
• Develop layouts, brackets and interfaces for engines and generators.
• Assess performance, fuel consumption and thermal behavior from data.
• Support selection of engine and power-generation solutions.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical and Controls teams to define architecture.
• Contribute to hybrid power-generation architecture improvements.
• Lead or assist root-cause analysis for engine or durability issues.
• Perform mechanical calculations and tolerance analyses.
• Support supplier reviews, prototypes and engineering changes.
• Contribute to FMEA and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain technical specs, drawings, tests and installation docs.
