Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer - Akamai for a remote role in Portugal. You will operate on cloud infrastructure in an enterprise setting, leveraging Akamai, Terraform, Terragrunt, and automation to support delivery of scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years with Akamai, strong Python, JavaScript and Shell skills, and deep knowledge of DNS, proxies and edge security.

Qualifications

• Senior level experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE or DevOps in a large enterprise.
• 2+ years hands-on experience supporting and configuring Akamai CDN.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform/Terragrunt for cloud environments; Python, JavaScript and Shell for automation.
• Deep understanding of DNS, proxies, and edge security (WAF, bot management).
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Role: DevOps Engineer - Akamai

Location: Remote, Portugal

Required skills:

• Proven experience operating at a senior level in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps within a large enterprise environment.
• 2+ years of hands‑on, recent experience supporting and configuring Content Delivery Networks, specifically Akamai.
• Strong, hands‑on proficiency in managing cloud environments using Terraform or Terragrunt
• Solid coding skills in Python, alongside working knowledge of JavaScript and Shell for building internal automation and tooling.
• Deep understanding of web fundamentals, including DNS, proxies, and edge security technologies (WAF, bot management).
• Experience with Git, modern automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and general DevOps principles
