Consort Group in Porto is seeking a Senior Java Spring / SQL Developer to help evolve a critical financial referential data management application. You will design, implement, and optimize robust backend systems, focusing on data quality, performance, and security.

You will work across CI/CD pipelines, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud environments, collaborating with DevOps and business stakeholders to deliver reliable software in a hybrid workplace.

Developer Java Spring / SQL

This is your mission

Are you passionate about designing robust, scalable, and high-quality back-end systems? Then this position is for you.

As a Senior Java Spring / SQL Developer, you will contribute to the evolution of a critical financial referential data management application, ensuring data quality, consistency, and performance across multiple internal and external data sources.

Build side:

• Design, develop, and secure scalable back-end architectures

• Implement robust APIs for data exposure and integration with external providers

• Industrialize solutions following CI/CD best practices

• Apply strong software engineering principles (clean code, design patterns, modularity)

• Develop and maintain microservices-based architectures

• Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of applications

• Participate in unit testing strategy and code quality improvement

• Collaborate with teams on system design and technical decisions

Run side:

• Participate in validation phases with end-users and stakeholders

• Support application deployment and production stability

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues

• Ensure continuous improvement of existing systems

• Contribute to incident resolution and root cause analysis

• Work in close collaboration with DevOps and support teams

• Maintain documentation and ensure knowledge sharing

You have at least 5+ years of experience in demanding software development environments. You enjoy building reliable backend systems and are constantly innovating. You are looking for an environment where your ideas matter and where technology goes hand in hand with collaboration.

You have at least 5 years of experience in software development within demanding enterprise environments. You enjoy building robust backend systems and working with complex data-driven applications. You are constantly looking to improve code quality, performance, and scalability, and you thrive in environments where collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement are key.

This is your expertise:

• Strong proficiency in Java (21) Spring programming language

• Advanced knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL)

• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, microservices, unit testing, and version control (Git)

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, IBM, or similar)

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerization

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, ALM)

• Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs

• Strong understanding of software architecture and backend systems
