Zyte Group in Portugal is seeking a Developer Advocate to connect with developers, showcase Zyte API and Scrapy, and explore AI-first workflows. You’ll represent Zyte at conferences, meetups, and online communities, turning feedback into better tools.

You’ll create tutorials, talks, and demos, build relationships with tech partners, and help developers adopt web data extraction. Remote-friendly role requiring 3+ years in advocacy, strong Python knowledge, and excellent communication.

About the role:

You’re a natural connector who combines hands-on technical knowledge with the confidence to engage developers and build lasting relationships. You’re curious about how developers work, the challenges they face, and where Zyte API and Scrapy can fit into their workflows. You’re excited by how LLMs are changing software development and keen to help developers take an AI-first approach, using web data to build useful applications.

As a Developer Advocate at Zyte, your work will focus on three key areas:

You’ll grow Zyte’s presence at conferences, meetups, and developer-focused events, identifying valuable opportunities and delivering engaging talks, workshops, and live demos. You’ll build relationships with developers, event organizers, and technology partners, connecting real-world challenges with practical ways to use Zyte.

You’ll create tutorials, demos, videos, and technical resources that help developers integrate Zyte API and Scrapy into their projects. You’ll explore emerging workflows, including LLM-powered applications and AI agents, showing how reliable web data supports them.

You’ll stay close to developers through open conversations, useful guidance, and ongoing engagement. Working with product, technical, and marketing teams, you’ll turn community feedback into improvements to our tools and resources, helping developers learn, connect, and build with Zyte.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Zyte at developer conferences, meetups, community events, podcasts, webinars, and other relevant industry forums.
• Identify and evaluate speaking, sponsorship, partnership, and community engagement opportunities that align with Zyte’s goals.
• Develop and deliver engaging conference talks, technical workshops, live demonstrations, webinars, and panel contributions, external and our own industry event, Extract Summit.
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with developers, community leaders, event organizers, technology partners, and external advocates.
• Grow a network of independent advocates and support them in sharing their experiences with Zyte, Scrapy, and web data extraction.
• Engage consistently with developers across social channels, forums, events, and relevant technical communities.
• Create written content, videos, presentations, demonstrations, and code samples that help developers adopt and integrate Zyte’s tools.
• Showcase practical approaches to solving web scraping and data extraction challenges.
• Write technical articles for Zyte’s blog and relevant third-party publications.
• Identify opportunities for Zyte to contribute to and collaborate with developer and open-source communities.
• Represent the developer perspective within the marketing team and across the wider organization.
• Identify opportunities to improve developer documentation and contribute directly to those improvements.
• Contribute regularly to Zyte’s social channels with content created for a developer audience.
• Track the impact of events, speaking engagements, partnerships, and community activities, using those insights to shape future initiatives.

• 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy, community engagement, or related technical roles, plus a proven established following
• Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, web scraping, and data extraction
• Demonstrable knowledge of Python.
• Interest in web data extraction
• A passion for developers and helping developers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with some experience with public speaking
• Proven experience working with communities, social media, and blogging required.
• A background in community building and event hosting is a plus
• Self-motivated, self-reliant and able to prioritize tasks.
• Strong team player

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Scrapy, headless browsers and web scraping is a plus but not a hard requirement.
