Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team in Portugal. You will manage SQL Server platforms, ensure high availability, and lead platform refreshes while developing automation scripts.

You will tune performance, support development teams, and implement HA solutions. Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, and GCP is valued. Fluency in English (B2) and French is mandatory, with on-call availability.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience as a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Expertise in SQL Server administration including high availability solutions like AlwaysOn and Replication.
• Experience with performance tuning, T-SQL, PowerShell and Microsoft BI tools (SSRS/SSIS/SSAS).
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS and GCP cloud platforms is valued.
• Fluency in English (B2) and French is mandatory.
• Availability for on-call duties.

Job description

What will you do?

• Manage and administer Microsoft SQL Server platforms (versions > 2014), ensuring high availability and robust performance.
• Oversee SQL Server platform refreshes, including infrastructure and version upgrades, to maintain up-to-date environments.
• Develop and maintain T-SQL and PowerShell scripts for automation, administration, and various utility purposes.
• Conduct performance analysis and tune SGBDs, while supporting development teams in rewriting suboptimal code and contributing to database modeling.
• Implement and manage high availability solutions such as AlwaysON and Transactional Replication.
• Administer and tune Microsoft BI tools, including SSRS, PowerBI Server, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Contribute to cloud database projects on platforms like Azure (SQL Server, Analysis Services, PowerBI), AWS, and GCP.
