Syone is seeking an experienced data platform & governance expert to design and own core data infrastructure on Microsoft Fabric, implementing a medallion lakehouse with Delta Lake. You will build scalable ingestion pipelines across enterprise systems, and support AI/ML workloads with robust data preparation.

The role emphasizes analytics readiness, governance, and secure data access. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in data engineering and a proven track record building enterprise-scale cloud

Responsabilidades

• Design and own core data infrastructure on Microsoft Fabric with medallion lakehouse architecture.
• Build scalable ingestion pipelines from enterprise systems (SharePoint, Salesforce, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, ERP/CRM, REST APIs).
• Develop streaming and batch ETL/ELT pipelines with schema evolution and data quality validation.
• Optimize storage and processing performance for structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure monitoring, alerting, and reliability of data pipelines.
• Build semantic layer, taxonomy, metadata standards, and governance across the platform.
• Prepare data for AI applications, including document chunking, embeddings, and vector datasets.

1 — Enterprise Data Platform & Pipelines

Design and own the core data infrastructure on Microsoft Fabric, implementing a medallion lakehouse architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) with Delta Lake for reliability and versioning. Specific responsibilities include:

• Scalable ingestion pipelines from enterprise systems including SharePoint, Salesforce, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, ERP and CRM platforms, file repositories, and REST APIs
• Streaming and batch ETL/ELT pipelines with schema evolution, data quality validation, and automated transformation
• Storage and processing performance optimisation across structured and unstructured data
• Monitoring, alerting, and operational reliability of all data pipelines

2 — Knowledge Engineering & Governance

Build the semantic layer that turns raw data into reusable, discoverable enterprise knowledge:

• Enterprise taxonomy, metadata standards, and semantic data models
• Document classification frameworks and knowledge graph foundations
• Data catalog strategy, lineage tracking, and data ownership management
• Access control, security, and compliance governance across the platform
• Centralised discoverability — enabling any team to find and trust enterprise data

3 — AI Readiness

Prepare enterprise knowledge for consumption by AI applications and agents built on top of this platform:

• Document chunking strategies optimised for retrieval and context windows
• Embedding pipelines and vector-ready datasets for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Reusable knowledge services exposable to AI applications via APIs
• Support for Azure AI Search and vector database integrations

Required Technical Skills:

• 7+ years in data engineering
• 3+ years building enterprise-scale cloud data platforms
• Proven track record designing enterprise data architecture from greenfield
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads and preparing data for model consumption
