Syffer is seeking a Data Engineer to analyze and optimize SAS queries, translate them into SQL and Python solutions, and improve legacy logic. You will collaborate with business data analysts and act as the bridge between business and engineering teams while developing cloud-based data solutions on Azure Synapse.

The role requires strong SQL/Python skills, hands-on Azure Synapse experience, and fluency in Portuguese and English, with a hybrid work model offered.

Qualificações

• 2-3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Development, or a similar role.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills, including query performance optimization (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse and cloud data platforms (mandatory).
• Experience analyzing and improving existing data processes and codebases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge and simplify complex logic.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze existing SAS queries and SAS Query Builder logic and translate them into optimized SQL and Python solutions.
• Review, simplify, and improve legacy logic rather than performing a direct migration.
• Partner with business data analysts to understand reporting and process requirements.
• Act as the technical bridge between business teams and engineering teams.
• Develop and optimize cloud-based data solutions on Azure Synapse.
• Ensure migrated workloads are cost-efficient by applying best practices for data access, filtering, and query optimization.
• Support the modernization of reporting and data processing capabilities within a cloud environment.
