VIRTHIO is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines for national and international clients across Banking, Services, Energy and Retail in Portugal. You will work with SQL, Python, dbt, and orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, Dagster), implement Snowflake data warehouses, and apply Kimball/Inmon/Data Vault modeling to deliver robust architectures.

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
• Extensive experience with ETL/ELT processes and CI/CD practices.

What you will be doing

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes;
• Develop and optimize data transformations using SQL, Python, and dbt;
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate data solution deployments and ensure code quality;
• Implement and manage data orchestration workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or Dagster;
• Design, develop, and optimize data warehouse solutions using Snowflake;
• Apply data modeling methodologies, including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault, to build robust and scalable data architectures;
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform;
• Leverage AWS services to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based data solutions;
• Ensure data quality, performance, scalability, and reliability across data platforms;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, maintainable, and high-quality data solutions.

What you will need to succeed

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer;
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python;
• Extensive experience with ETL/ELT processes and CI/CD practices;
• Practical experience with dbt and data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or Dagster;
• Extensive experience with Snowflake and Terraform;
• Strong understanding of data modeling methodologies, including Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault;
• Professional experience working with AWS services and cloud-based data environments;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data quality, performance, and scalability;
• Ability to work collaboratively within technical teams and contribute to the design and continuous improvement of data solutions;
• Full professional proficiency in English is an advantage.
