Linde Portugal is seeking a Data Engineer (m/f/d) to design and build robust data pipelines and data lakehouses that support Data Science, Analytics, reporting, and business partners.

You will translate business needs into scalable data models, ensure data source reusability, and contribute to data architecture and governance across the organization.

Qualificações

• Masters degree in STEM field.
• Strong programming and data engineering skills (SQL, Python, R) with data modelling and data management experience.
• Understanding of platform concepts like Databricks and system infrastructure.
• Fluent in English; travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Build robust data pipelines and data lakehouses for Data Science, analytics, and business partners.
• Design reusable data models and lakehouses aligned with business needs.
• Ensure data source reusability, scalability, and consistency to prevent data silos.
• Improve data architecture and governance standards across the organization.

What you will enjoy doing

• As a data engineer you will focus on building robust data pipelines and data lakehouses to best support the needs of our Data Science, Data Analytics/Reporting teams as well as our internal business partners
• You will combine an understanding of business processes and related data with your extraordinary capability in designing and developing targeted and reusable data models and lakehouses
• You will ensure reusability, scalablity and consistency of data sources in order to ensure rapid product development and avoid data silos
• Furthermore you will play an important role in improving the overall data architecture and platform strategy while also support in creating data engineering best practices
• You will shape and enforce data governance standards within the wider Linde organization

What makes you great

• You possess a minimum of a masters degree from a university in a STEM subject (science technology, engineering or mathematics)
• You posses very strong skills in programming and data engineering (SQL /Python /R ) which you combine with a very good understanding of data modelling and data management processes as well as experience in creating data lakehouses or similar concepts preferred
• Furthermore you have a good understanding of platform concepts (e.g. Databricks) and system infrastructure and experience in gathering and understanding business requirements and turning them into data models
• You combine interest and motivation to continuously learn and develop with excellent spoken and written skills in English
• Willingness to travel to collaborate with the wider team and business (< 10%)
