Job summary

SYONE is seeking a Data Engineer/Data Analytics Engineer in Porto to collaborate with business stakeholders, translate requirements into technical specifications, and design robust data models for analytics. You will build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, develop BI dashboards, and ensure data quality and lineage across multiple sources.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, strong SQL skills, and proficiency in data warehousing concepts. Knowledge of Stambia and Power BI is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Finance or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in data-focused roles (Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, BI Developer).
• Strong knowledge of SQL, complex queries, joins, stored procedures and query optimization.

What you need to bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role, such as Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer or BI Developer.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including complex queries, joins, stored procedures and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data warehousing and data modeling, particularly the Kimball methodology.
• Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Stambia, Talend, Informatica, SSIS, Azure Data Factory or dbt.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Stambia if you have experience with other ETL technologies.
• Professional proficiency in French (minimum B2 level) to interact with French‑speaking stakeholders.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

The following will be considered a plus:

• Experience with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query/M.
• Previous experience in the banking, financial services or insurance sector.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Knowledge of Python or Unix/Linux scripting.
