Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Lisbon seeks a Data Engineer (AWS) to join an innovative automotive project. You will design scalable cloud architectures on AWS, build CI/CD pipelines, and implement IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

Expect to manage Kubernetes workloads and enforce security practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and distributed systems, with an agile, international project environment and hybrid work

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in data engineering roles with expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines, systems, and applications.
• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or engineering domains.
• Proficient in Python and one additional programming/querying language used for data engineering (Java, SQL, NoSQL).
• Hands-on experience with AWS and CI/CD tools; Kubernetes experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, SQL/NoSQL, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud architectures in AWS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud environments.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) and containerized workloads.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting (Bash, Python, Go).
• Monitor cloud environments with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
• Enforce security best practices including IAM, network security, and compliance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud apps and DevOps workflows.
• Drive cost optimization strategies and FinOps best practices.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a Data Engineer (AWS) to join an innovative project within the automotive sector.

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud architectures in AWS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

YOUR PROFILE

• 4 years of experience in data engineering roles with expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines, systems, and applications.
• Proficient in data warehouse design, implementation, and optimization, leveraging ETL/ELT processes, schema modeling, and ensuring efficient data retrieval for analytical purposesDegree in computer science, software engineering, or in engineering domains.
• Proficient in Python and one additional programming/querying language used for data engineering Java, SQL, NoSQLs or similar.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS S.Strong expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, both SQL and NoSQL, with expertise in distributed systems design.
• Experience with big data technologies such as, Spark or other distributed processing technologies and familiarity with tools like Airflow for workflow orchestration.Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and best practices in ensuring data quality and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.
• Familiarity with Standard AI/ML processes & Operations is greatly valued.
• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi).
• Solid understanding of cloud security, identity management, and access control.
• Experience with observability and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, Datadog).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages advantageous.
