Role

Data Engineer

Location: Porto, Portugal | Hybrid – 2 to 3 times per month in the office

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and transformations on Databricks and Synapse
• Develop and manage reusable, high-performance data products across bronze, silver, and gold layers
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (SAP, Salesforce, external systems)
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with governance and security standards
• Optimize data processing for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Automate workflows, testing, and deployment via CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Data Factory
• Knowledge of Data Vault, Dimensional, and Entity-Relationship modeling
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Azure DevOps, Git, and Terraform
• Knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or Databricks Unity Catalog
• Fluency in English (mandatory)
• Databricks certifications (valued)
