Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a highly expert Customer Solution Architect for its Control and Digitalization team, based at an office in Europe. You will craft and complete projects for automation, control systems and digital solutions, assembling portfolio products into effective customer solutions.

You will work with customers and their technical departments, providing technical guidance, tender support and project management within a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Solid architecture experience in combining multiple systems into one solution, preferably from a networking perspective, with SCADA or DCS in industrial applications.
• Extensive experience in design and commissioning of large-scale industrial automation, ideally from power generation or industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual design and engineering of customer solutions, including network and system architecture design.
• Designing, testing and commissioning of hardware and software solutions using Omnivise T3000, WinCC, SCADA and related platforms.
• Defining requirements with product teams and providing feedback for development.
• Providing technical recommendations to customers and stakeholders and guiding tender preparation with Sales/Bid managers.

A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a highly expert Customer Solution Architect to join our Control and Digitalization team, based at one of our offices around Europe.

Working closely with the Head of Digitalization, you will craft and complete projects for Siemens Energy's automation, control systems and digital solutions.

On the technical side of our customer solutions, you take products from our portfolio and put them together into a solution that solves the customer's problem, working with customers and their technical departments.

The role requires sales, tendering support and project management skills with proven team-working experience in a matrix organization.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Conceptual design and engineering of customer solutions for potential projects, including network and system architecture design and administration
• Designing, developing, factory acceptance testing and on-site commissioning of hardware and software solutions using Omnivise T3000, WinCC, SCADA solutions, Hybrid Plant Controller and other Siemens Energy automation and digital platforms
• Working with product teams to ensure the customer solution is feasible, defining requirements and scopes, and providing feedback for product development
• Providing technical recommendations and decisions to Siemens Energy and to customers based on a clear understanding of the customers' business and operational environment, and ensuring open, regular and effective communication with stakeholders
• Assisting Sales and Bid Managers technically in tender preparation for conventional and innovative application fields such as hybrid plants, substations, district heating, batteries, Power2X, wind and fleet management
• Estimating project influences and risks and evaluating them technically, and proactively promoting innovation, improvements, risk identification and safety management

What You Bring

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, where real-world experience carries a lot of weight
• Solid architecture experience in combining multiple systems into one solution, preferably from a networking perspective, with SCADA or DCS in industrial applications
• Extensive experience in design and commissioning of large-scale industrial automation, ideally from power generation (conventional or renewable), the wider energy industry or industrial and process automation
• A cooperative mindset and the ability to communicate with very different stakeholders, from customers to sales, development and execution
• Willingness to travel within the Europe and Africa region
• Experience with automation products such as Omnivise T3000, WinCC and other SCADA and digitalization solutions for an OT environment is considered an advantage
• Experience from a customer-facing role, for example in execution, sales support or sales, and a project or bid background is considered an advantage
• IT knowledge such as APIs, cloud architectures and virtual environments, and knowledge of IEC 62443, IEC 61850 and IEC 60870, is considered an advantage

Our Control and Digitalization team is growing, and we are looking for someone whose technical background complements the skills already in the team, for example within IT, OT protocols, SCADA configuration or networks. It is a very cooperative environment where nobody works alone, and the team already brings strong cyber security expertise. Team members are based in different countries across Europe.
