Job summary

Work in USA in Porto, Portugal, seeks an Executive Pastry Chef to lead a talented pastry team and oversee the restaurant's dessert program. You will design seasonal desserts, refine plating, and ensure consistency across all courses.

You will train bakers and pastry cooks, collaborate with the executive chef, monitor inventory, uphold food safety, and stay current with trends to elevate our dessert offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or similar in fine dining.
• Excellent knowledge of dessert techniques, flavors and presentation.
• Creative mindset with passion for developing new dessert recipes.
• Strong leadership to train and motivate pastry staff.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update the dessert menu, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Train and supervise pastry chefs, bakers, and other kitchen staff on proper techniques and recipes.
• Oversee the production of all desserts, ensuring they meet high standards for taste, presentation and quality.
• Monitor inventory levels of pastry supplies and ingredients, placing orders as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following all food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the executive chef to ensure desserts complement the rest of the menu.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques, incorporating them into creations.
• Work closely with front-of-house staff to provide excellent service to guests.
