Winthrop Technologies is seeking a Crane Appointed Person for a major data centre project in Sines, Portugal. The role focuses on planning, coordination, and safe execution of all lifting operations, ensuring compliance with BS 7121 and statutory requirements.

You will manage Lift Plans, mentor APs, and ensure a safety-first approach on site, coordinating with crane operators and subcontractors across a multi-site project.

Qualificações

• CPCS Appointed Person (A61) or equivalent qualification is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience planning and managing crane lifting operations on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7121, lifting legislation, and best practices.
• Proven ability to develop lift plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Experience coordinating crane operators, lifting teams, and subcontractors on live sites.

Responsabilidades

• Take overall responsibility for management, organisation, planning, and control of all lifting operations on the project.
• Develop, review, approve, and issue Lift Plans compliant with requirements and standards.
• Ensure all lifting operations are fully planned and controlled with approved Lift Plans.
• Oversee Appointed Persons, ensuring competence and written appointment.
• Assign mentors and provide guidance to APs and lifting team members.
• Provide ongoing support to APs and address issues raised.
• Brief Lift Supervisor and lifting team on Lift Plans prior to execution.
• Ensure Lift Plans are issued only after adequate review and risk mitigation.
• Monitor site lifting operations for compliance and stop unsafe works.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture aligned with project objectives.
