Setúbal, Portugal — EHS International is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a major pharmaceutical project. The role focuses on coordinating mechanical construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and high-quality outcomes on site.

The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or oil & gas sectors, with a mechanical engineering background and strong piping isometrics knowledge.

Qualificações

  • Minimum 10 years of experience delivering mechanical construction projects in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Mechanical trade background or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of piping isometric and general arrangement drawings.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple work activities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and coordinate mechanical construction activities on site.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with other disciplines, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Monitor project schedules and support the successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Manage labour, plant and subcontractor resources efficiently.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Work with Site Engineers, HSE and QA/QC teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor project variations and communicate relevant information to the commercial team.
  • Drive safe working practices while maintaining programme and quality objectives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager to join a major pharmaceutical project in Portugal.

Working as part of an experienced project management team, you will be responsible for coordinating mechanical construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate mechanical construction activities on site.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with other disciplines, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Monitor project schedules and support the successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Manage labour, plant and subcontractor resources efficiently.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
  • Work closely with Site Engineers, HSE and QA/QC teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience delivering mechanical construction projects within the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • A Mechanical trade background or a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of piping isometric and general arrangement drawings.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple work activities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
