Porto Technical Centre is the largest Yazaki global engineering services provider, that offers high-tech product development capabilities, translating customer specific needs into efficient production concepts, while consolidating and developing EDS expertise across plants on the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. We are currently seeking high potential candidates to join us through Complexity Engineering team, reporting directly to the area supervisor.
Responsible for managing product release and complexity activities throughout the vehicle development lifecycle, ensuring accurate Bill of Material (BoM) validation, usage alignment, part number management and product data integrity, while interacting with multiple stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance.
Manage product release activities, ensuring timely and accurate part creation, validation and approval throughout the program lifecycle.
Perform BoM, usage, and configuration validation to ensure product data accuracy, consistency and compliance with customer and engineering requirements.
Lead complexity management activities for wire harnesses and EDS components, maintaining alignment between product features, usage definitions and vehicle configurations.
Coordinate engineering changes, release documentation and product updates through internal systems, supporting prototype, pre-production and production builds.
Analyse and resolve product data, release and configuration issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive effective solutions.
Interact and collaborate with various stakeholders including customers (OEMs), CSC and manufacturing plants.
Ensure effective information sharing among department members and cross-functional teams.
Promote improvement activities related to engineering product development and definition.
Perform administrative tasks to control the complete engineering process and workflow.
Monitor and report project progress, risks and issues, escalating where necessary.
Ensure adherence to agreed deadlines with customers and internal stakeholders.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical.
Solid knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel (advanced level).
Good knowledge of 2D Design Tools (e.g. AutoCAD or equivalent).
Knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, PDCA and 8D methodology.
Understanding of automotive engineering standards and product change management processes.
Advanced English (spoken and written) and/or German.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and stakeholder interaction.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Dynamism, resilience and self‑discipline.
Strong time‑management and team‑working skills.
Availability to travel if required.
