Decskill, an IT consulting company with a global presence, is hiring a COBOL Developer to maintain and modernize legacy COBOL systems. You will translate business needs into robust technical specifications, collaborating with analysts and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions.

You will leverage AI-assisted tools to refactor COBOL modules while preserving business logic, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and implement secure, compliant practices in an Agile environment.

Qualificações

• 4+ years of professional COBOL development.
• Strong COBOL expertise (Micro Focus COBOL).
• Experience with DevOps and version control (Git/Ansible/ToolChain).
• Experience in the financial sector is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsabilidades

We would like to meet a COBOL Developer!

Responsibilities:

• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and develop and maintain legacy COBOL code.
• Work closely with Business Analysts to transform functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Use AI-assisted tools to understand, analyze, refactor, and safely modify existing COBOL modules while preserving business logic.
• Map functional specifications to the existing codebase and identify all impacted components.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration test suites and support acceptance-test planning and execution.
• Support the adoption of modern technologies and tooling, including AI-driven data validation, CI/CD pipelines, and advanced monitoring.
• Document changes, manage version control, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the successful delivery of releases.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong expertise in Micro Focus COBOL.
• Familiarity with PowerHouse (4GL) and/or Eloquence (Marxmeier) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools, such as Ansible and ToolChain, is a plus.
• Experience with Git and version control is a plus.
• Previous experience in the financial sector is a plus.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Good understanding of unit and integration testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work closely with Business Analysts and technical teams.
• English – Expert, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Portuguese – Expert.
