AdvanceWorks in Lisbon is seeking a FinOps Engineer to optimize cloud costs across Azure, AWS, and GCP. You will drive cost efficiency, governance, and automation while partnering with Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams.

This role demands hands-on cloud cost management, scripting in Python, SQL, and data visualization with Power BI, and fluent Portuguese and English to communicate findings across the business.

Qualificações

• FinOps, Cloud engineering, or related role with relevant experience.
• Degree in Engineering, CS, IT, or equivalent.
• Proven Cloud cost optimization experience.
• Hands-on with Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Strong scripting with Python; SQL and APIs experience.
• Knowledge of governance, tagging, budgets, forecasting.
• Fluent Portuguese and English.

Responsabilidades

• Implementing and promoting Cloud FinOps best practices across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
• Monitoring and optimizing Cloud resource utilization, identifying waste, cost anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Developing automation for collection, analysis, and processing of Cloud usage and cost data, leveraging AI technologies where appropriate.
• Supporting Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams in adopting efficient, sustainable, and cost-optimized Cloud architectures.
• Identifying and executing cost optimization initiatives, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Commitment Discounts, and unused resources.
• Producing in-depth technical analyses covering Cloud consumption, performance, architecture, and financial efficiency.
• Contributing to the evolution of the organization's FinOps strategy, including new automation and intelligent operations capabilities.
• Acting as a technical reference for Cloud efficiency, governance, automation, and optimization across multi-cloud environments.
• Working with data analysis, scripting, and automation technologies such as Python, SQL, APIs, and Power BI.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across technical and business teams, communicating findings, risks, priorities, and optimization opportunities clearly.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across Cloud financial management, automation, governance, and operational efficiency.

What will be your role

We are looking for a FinOps Engineer to join our team in Lisbon and contribute to the optimization and evolution of Cloud operations for a global organization with complex multi-cloud environments. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving Cloud cost efficiency, optimization, governance, and automation across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Your responsibilities will include

• Implementing and promoting Cloud FinOps best practices across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments
• Monitoring and optimizing Cloud resource utilization, identifying waste, cost anomalies, and opportunities for improvement

What should you bring to the team

• Professional experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, Data Engineering, or related roles
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Proven experience implementing or contributing to Cloud cost optimization initiatives
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one major Cloud platform, with good knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP
• Solid understanding of Cloud FinOps principles, practices, and cost management
• Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with Python
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with APIs and Cloud cost/usage data
• Experience identifying and implementing optimization opportunities such as rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Commitment Discounts, and unused resource management
• Knowledge of Cloud governance, resource management, tagging, cost allocation, budgets, forecasting, and cost visibility
• Experience using data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI or equivalent
• Fluent Portuguese and English, both written and spoken

Nice to have

• FinOps Practitioner certification or higher
• Experience with Cloud cost management and optimization platforms such as CloudHealth
• Experience developing AI-driven automation or intelligent solutions for Cloud operations and cost optimization
• Experience working across complex multi-cloud environments
• Familiarity with Cloud-native cost management tools across Azure, AWS, and GCP
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and engineering best practices
• Knowledge of Cloud sustainability and carbon optimization practices
