Job summary

Claranet Portugal is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the Porto-based internal team. You will implement and deploy cloud solutions using Terraform, interfacing with GCP, AWS and Azure, with emphasis on GCP.

You will also help govern cloud usage, set policies, and optimize infrastructures following FinOps guidelines. The role requires 2 years of cloud experience, cloud certifications, scripting abilities in Bash/PowerShell/Python, and hands-on Kubernetes and IaC expertise.

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional experience with at least one major cloud service provider.
• 1 or more cloud certifications.
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks (scripting in Bash/PowerShell/Python).
• Experience with microservice architectures on Kubernetes.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices and patterns – Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Solid understanding of modern information implementation methodologies and standards, especially in cloud environments.
• Proven experience with git practices and patterns.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deploy cloud solutions, using Terraform (IaC), with focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Azure.
• Maintain and improve cloud governance by enabling and facilitating global usage while setting rails and policies.
• Analyze existing infrastructures to optimize them and help deploy changes following FinOps methodologies.

Right now, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer to integrate our internal team, based in Porto.

Your responsibilities include:

• You will implement and deploy cloud solutions, through the usage of Terraform (IaC), following the best practices specified within the Cloud Centre of Excellence team and be in touch with the 3 major cloud service providers: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with greater focus on GCP.
• You will help maintain and improve the governance of each Cloud by enabling and facilitating the global usage, while setting rails and policies to safeguard mis use.
• You will analyse existent infrastructures, provide insight on how to optimize them (following the R’s migration methodology) and help deploy the changes, while following FinOps methodologies.

You must have:
