Job summary

Jobbex.IT, a company that empowers people & organizations by matching great talents to great projects, is seeking a Category Manager to support aerospace procurement for a client in Portugal. This role focuses on cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing to ensure timely availability of components for space programs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Quality, Legal, and Program Management teams, lead negotiations with strategic suppliers, and guide Commodity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of procurement experience in aerospace/defense/high-tech industries.
• Strong knowledge of direct procurement and supplier management.
• Familiarity with aerospace supply chains, space systems, and export controls (ITAR/EAR).

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies focused on cost reduction and supplier consolidation.
• Lead negotiations with strategic suppliers and establish long-term agreements.
• Ensure timely availability of critical components for space programs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Quality, Legal, and Program Management teams.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement risk mitigation plans.
