SBM Offshore is seeking a Category Buyer in Porto, Portugal to negotiate and contract long-term supplier agreements. The role supports the Category Manager in strategic sourcing and supplier performance across oil & gas projects.
The successful candidate will analyze markets, drive cost improvements, and align contracts with project needs. Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field is required, with experience in procurement or supply chain within energy.

You support the Category Manager or other member of the team in the effective management of strategic suppliers.
You monitor vendor's financial data, load level, capacity and investment plans.
You perform market analysis.
You ensure that commercial agreements match Projects, Operations or Indirect Procurement needs and bring benefits such as simplification, competitive commercial terms, and manufacturing slots reservation.
You deliver frame agreements as per defined contracting plan on target as defined in the category strategy.
You support the negotiation with suppliers for packages and services in your category, using benchmark and cost breakdown models, bringing TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) parameters into the equation.
You support Projects, Operations or Indirect Procurement teams when the relationship with the vendor is at risk (dispute & claims resolution, manufacturing performance, slot allocations).
You measure, monitor and report the savings from the implementation of the category strategy and other relevant supply chain KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the category.
You may also issue Purchase Orders (POs) for key scopes.
