act digital is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to evolve a long‑standing desktop application built with C++20 and Qt. You will enhance existing design decisions while preserving stability and reliability in a hybrid Porto environment.

The role focuses on implementing modular components, expanding APIs, and ensuring high code quality through tests and peer reviews. Strong English communication is essential for collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing software in C++.
• Knowledge of modern C++ design principles, including resource ownership, move semantics, const-correctness, and effective use of the Standard Library.
• Experience creating maintainable, testable code and designing software components, APIs, or architecture.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with automated unit testing frameworks such as Catch2, Google Test, Boost.Test, or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux development, Git workflows, and CMake.
• Experience working with large, established or legacy codebases while maintaining product stability.
• Confidence communicating technical concepts in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement maintainable software components, APIs, and system architecture.
• Develop and debug applications on Linux, using the command line and common development tools.
• Maintain and improve CMake-based builds.
• Write and maintain automated unit tests.
• Participate in Git-based collaboration and constructive code reviews.
• Work pragmatically in a large, long-lived codebase, improving quality without unnecessary rewrites.
• Investigate complex technical problems and drive them through to resolution.
