The role requires 2-5 years in construction procurement, with a background in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering. Fluency in Portuguese and English, plus strong Excel skills, are essential.

Qualificações

• Experience in the Portuguese construction sector is desirable.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English both written and spoken.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our team as we continue to expand across Portugal. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing materials and services for construction projects, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement aligned with project needs. This position requires 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry within Europe and a background in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials and services for construction projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms for cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
• Assist Procurement Manager and the procurement team in daily activities.
• Prepare and assimilate tender information into procurement work packages.
• Leverage multiple projects to negotiate favorable rates/terms.
• Source and evaluate multiple tenders.
• Work with site teams and internal departments to maximize value.
• Support procurement development plans and future strategies.
• Manage contracts and negotiations effectively.
• Coordinate procurement team activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Build and nurture strong working relationships internally and with suppliers.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of procurement experience, ideally within the construction industry.
• Background in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in the Portuguese construction sector is desirable.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Proven experience in subcontractor and material procurement.
• Demonstrated success in construction negotiations.
• Familiarity with standard subcontract forms.
• Understanding of purchasing agreements and the full construction process.
• Ability to set up and manage procurement systems.
• Experience managing multiple projects, particularly commercial projects worth €10M+.
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
