ITDS in Porto invites a Senior Business Analyst & SQL Specialist to translate business needs into technical specifications and drive data-driven decisions in leasing projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, write and validate SQL queries, study as-is vs to-be processes, and document requirements in English and French to support deployment in a hybrid work environment.

Qualificações

• 8+ years as a Business Analyst/Functional Analyst or data consultant in financial environments.
• Strong SQL skills with ability to write complex queries and analyze data.
• Experience gathering requirements and supporting technical teams.
• Fluency in English; French at least B2 for stakeholder communication.
• Hybrid work experience and eligibility to work in Europe.

As a Senior Business Analyst & SQL Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading financial services institution dedicated to delivering innovative leasing solutions within the corporate banking sector. You will play a pivotal role in translating business needs into technical specifications, analyzing complex data, and supporting process improvements. Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business teams to gather challenges, define requirements, and translate them into clear functional specifications for technical teams.


• Write and execute SQL queries (SELECT, filters, joins, subqueries) to extract, manipulate, and analyze raw data, supporting business evaluations and troubleshooting.


• Study current \"as-is\" processes, identify inefficiencies, and design improved \"to-be\" process flows.


• Participate in testing phases, validate data consistency, and ensure quality through targeted SQL validation queries.


• Develop comprehensive documentation, including specifications, use cases, and user guides in French; provide functional support during deployment.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or data-oriented business consultant in financial or banking environments.


• Strong hands-on SQL skills with autonomous query writing, complex joins, subqueries, and data analysis.


• Proven ability to gather requirements, analyze processes, and support technical teams effectively.


• Fluency in English (spoken and written) and minimum B2 level proficiency in French—excellent communication skills with French-speaking stakeholders are essential.


• Experience working in a hybrid environment, comfortable with up to 3 remote days per week.


• Eligibility to work in Europe.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Prior experience in lease applications or banking projects.


• Knowledge of process mapping tools or methodologies.


• Certification or training in business analysis or data analysis.

Language Required for the role:

• French-level B2 (written and spoken)
