Mercor seeks a Bilingual Portuguese Generalist Expert - AI Safety for a fully remote engagement. You will write expert-level prompts in Portuguese, apply structured guidelines to classify prompts, and document the reasoning behind judgments.

You will evaluate how AI models handle sensitive topics, flag adversarial phrasing, and work independently to meet deadlines while enhancing model safety in a fast-paced, globally remote team.

Qualifications

Position: Bilingual Portuguese Generalist Expert - AI Safety
Type: Contract
Compensation: $40-$44/hour
Location: Remote

• Write expert-level prompts in Portuguese across a range of sensitive subject areas.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Flag adversarial phrasings and escalation patterns. Document the reasoning behind your judgments.
• Evaluate and strengthen how AI models handle sensitive topics in Portuguese.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model safety.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese. Business-level written English.
• A Bachelor's degree, completed or in progress.
• Strong written reasoning and a high level of attention to detail.
• Sound judgment around sensitive and dual-use information.

Preferred

• Based in Portugal or the wider Western Europe region.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content.
• Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing.
