Capgemini is seeking a Benchmarking & Multi-Vendor Network Optimization Engineer (Senior/Lead/SME) in Portugal. You will execute network benchmarking campaigns and analyze key performance indicators across 2G/3G/4G/5G, driving optimization plans for improved coverage and user experience.

The role requires multi-vendor experience, strong KPI analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Hybrid work options and extensive training are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mobile network optimization and benchmarking activities.
• Strong experience in multi-vendor environments (Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung).
• Solid knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE/VoLTE/5G NR and KPI-based optimization.
• Hands-on with benchmarking and crowdsourcing analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end network benchmarking campaigns and performance assessments.
• Analyze drive test, crowdsourcing, customer experience, and KPI data to identify gaps.
• Develop optimization strategies to enhance coverage, capacity, mobility, and QoS.
• Collaborate with Planning, Performance, Operations, and Optimization teams.
• Lead benchmarking initiatives and provide technical leadership as SME when needed.

# Benchmarking & Multi-Vendor Network Optimization Engineer (Senior / Lead / SME)Évora, Fundão, Lisboa - Expo, VNG - Cais GaiaApply for this job* Fixed Term Contract* Experienced Professionals* Products & Systems Engineering* ID 580229-en\\_GB## YOUR ROLE* Execute end-to-end network benchmarking campaigns and competitive performance assessments.* Analyze drive test, crowdsourcing, customer experience, and network KPI data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.* Assess network competitiveness and develop optimization strategies to enhance customer experience.* Perform optimization activities across 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, VoLTE, and 5G NSA/SA networks.* Analyze accessibility, retainability, mobility, availability, throughput, latency, and user experience KPIs.* Identify root causes of network performance degradation and propose corrective actions.* Develop and implement optimization action plans to improve coverage, capacity, mobility, and service quality.* Conduct feature validation, performance assessment, and technology benchmarking activities.* Prepare benchmarking reports, executive summaries, customer presentations, and technical recommendations.* Support customer workshops, performance review meetings, and technical discussions with operators and stakeholders.* Collaborate with Planning, Performance, Operations, and Optimization teams to drive network quality improvements.* Work within multi-vendor environments, including Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung networks.* Contribute to the definition and evolution of benchmarking methodologies, best practices, and performance frameworks.* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership when required.* For senior leadership profiles, act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading benchmarking initiatives, reviewing technical deliverables, and driving innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.## YOUR PROFILE* Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5+ years of experience in mobile network optimization and benchmarking activities.* Proven experience in benchmarking projects, competitive network analysis, and customer experience assessments.* Strong experience working in multi-vendor environments, including Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, and preferably Samsung technologies.* Strong knowledge of GSM, UMTS, LTE, VoLTE, and 5G NR technologies.Solid understanding of radio network KPIs, performance analysis, and optimization methodologies.* Experience with OSS tools and performance management platforms.* Hands-on experience with benchmarking and crowdsourcing analytics platforms such as UMLAUT, Ookla, Tutela, Opensignal, or similar.Experience with drive test and analysis tools, including: + TEMS Investigation + Nemo Outdoor + GENEX Probe + Actix Analyzer* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.* Experience working directly with customers and managing stakeholder expectations.* Ability to work independently and within multicultural and geographically distributed teams.* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.* English – Professional proficiency (spoken and written).* Spanish – Professional proficiency is highly desirable.* Additional languages are considered a plus.Nice to have:* Experience supporting Tier-1 mobile operators.* Knowledge of AI-driven network analytics and automation solutions.* Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical focal point.* Exposure to pre-sales activities, solution design, and customer governance forums.## WHAT YOU ́LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE* Join a multicultural and inclusive team environment.* Enjoy a supportive atmosphere promoting work life balance.* Hybrid work.* Your career growth is central to our mission.
