Job summary

Devoteam is seeking a Linux System Administrator in Porto to manage Linux servers and related infrastructure. You will handle updates, patching, auditing, and performance tuning while supporting users and IT staff. The role emphasizes automation, scripting with Python and Bash, and expertise in virtualization and containerization.

The ideal candidate has strong command-line skills, experience with Git/Bitbucket, and familiarity with Ansible. English communication is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux system administration (CentOS, RedHat) and UNIX variants.
• Automation and scripting with Python and Bash.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Strong command-line proficiency and experience with configuration management tools (Git/Bitbucket).
• Hands-on Ansible is a plus.
• WebLogic knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP and IPv6 is desirable.
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical with strong English communication skills.
• French is a plus.

Job Description

Qualifications

• Working experience in Linux system administration (CentOS, RedHat) and/or UNIX (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris);
• Experience with automation and scripting tools like Python and Bash;
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Openstack) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift):
• Solid command-line knowledge;
• Experience with configuration management tools and version control systems (Bitbucket/Git)
• Hands on Ansible (plus);
• Expert Web Application Servers - Weblogic is a plus;
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP and IPV4/IPV6 (desirable);
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical skills;
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
• French is a plus.
