Job summary

Devoteam Porto is seeking a Linux systems administrator to manage, monitor and optimize Linux servers and applications. You will perform patching, updates and configuration management to ensure high availability and security.

You will work with automation (Python, Bash), virtualization (VMware, OpenStack) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift), participate in on‑call rotations and support colleagues with IT operations and project deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux system administration (CentOS, RedHat) and UNIX (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris).
• Automation and scripting with Python and Bash.
• Virtualization and containerization (VMware/OpenStack, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Strong command-line knowledge.
• Configuration management and version control (Bitbucket/Git).
• Hands-on Ansible (plus).
• WebLogic knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP and IPv4/IPv6 (desirable).
• Detail-oriented with analytical skills.
• Excellent English communication (spoken and written); French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular system and security audits, vulnerability assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Proactively identify and resolve system performance issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.

• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide after‑hours support as needed.

Job Description

Qualifications

• Working experience in Linux system administration (CentOS, RedHat) and/or UNIX (HP-UX, AIX, Solaris);
• Experience with automation and scripting tools like Python and Bash;
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Openstack) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift):
• Solid command-line knowledge;
• Experience with configuration management tools and version control systems (Bitbucket/Git)
• Hands on Ansible (plus);
• Expert Web Application Servers – Weblogic is a plus;
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP and IPV4/IPV6 (desirable);
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical skills;
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
• French is a plus.
