JobCloud HR Tech, Porto-based company of JobCloud, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain integrations connecting our ecosystem with external platforms.

You will join an international team, craft clean, scalable code and continuously learn new technologies while helping to improve deployment and reliability. The role offers hybrid work options and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of back-end development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or PHP.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong engineering practices: code reviews and automated testing.
• Curiosity and willingness to continually expand technical knowledge.
• Strong work ethic, self-discipline and collaboration.
• Experience in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations with external systems for inbound and outbound data streams.
• Monitor health and reliability of integration services; resolve operational issues.
• Participate in design and implementation of new features and services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and stakeholders across international teams.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and improve development processes.
• Help build scalable and resilient backend services for the platform.
• Contribute to automation, deployment and system reliability improvements.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

• Develop and maintain integrations with external systems for both inbound and outbound data streams.
• Monitor the health and reliability of integration services and resolve operational issues when needed.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new features and services.

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED?

• 4+ years of experience in Back-end Software Development.
• Strong programming experience in Python and/or PHP.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews and automated testing.
• Curiosity and willingness to continuously expand your technical knowledge.
• Strong work ethic, self-discipline and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development is considered a plus.
• Good communication skills in English.
