The Role

We’re hiring a Backend Engineer to help design and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance services and APIs.

In this role, you’ll:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs;
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, full‑stack engineers, and product teams to deliver backend services;
• Work with databases, caching, and messaging systems to build efficient and resilient systems;
• Have a strong influence on architecture decisions and the overall technical direction of the backend stack;
• Optimize application performance and scalability to handle high concurrency;
• Ensure reliability and observability through logging, metrics, and alerting;
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help improve engineering practices.

About You

• Most importantly, you’re humble, and a great team player, making you a fit with our culture;
• You’re eager to learn new technologies and like being up to date with the new trends in your area;
• At least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer;
• Organized, autonomous, with good communication skills;
• You have strong experience in backend development, ideally with Node.js or TypeScript;
• You’re comfortable designing RESTful APIs and integrating with cloud services (AWS preferred);
• You have hands‑on experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL);
• You care about code quality and maintainability;
• You enjoy solving performance and scalability challenges and take a data‑driven approach to optimization;
• You have a strong experience in high‑concurrency or high‑traffic systems and performance testing;
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in startups or fast‑paced environments;
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch);
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker);
• Knowledge of caching layers and async processing (Redis, SQS, etc.);
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices;
• Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, secrets management).
