IREUM is seeking an experienced Backend Developer (Java / Spring Boot) to join an innovative technology project in Lisbon. The role focuses on building scalable backend services, REST APIs and robust data layer integrations while applying modern engineering practices.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in backend development, strong Java/Spring Boot expertise, and hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Kafka.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Experience designing, developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with Git and version control best practices.
• Knowledge of messaging systems, particularly Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Experience developing, maintaining and improving enterprise applications.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and apply software engineering best practices.
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior developers, assigning tasks and reviewing deliverables.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, autonomy, proactivity and teamwork skills.
• Interest in using AI-assisted development tools to improve software engineering processes.

Required Competencies

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend software development.

Preferred Competencies

• Previous experience in the banking sector.
• Knowledge of Document Management Systems, OCR and Generative AI (GenAI).
• Experience with Cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure or AWS.

Main Responsibilities

Working Conditions

• Location: Lisbon, Portugal
• Working Model: Hybrid - 2 days per week on-site and 3 days remote.
• Availability: Within 30 days, ideally sooner.
• Salary Range: €2,000 - €2,300 gross per month.
