Job summary

Sysmatch is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join our Lisbon or Porto teams. You will manage AWS environments in production, implement IaC with Terraform, and automate with Python and GitHub Actions, while ensuring reliability and security.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own incidents and deployments, and contribute to governance and cost optimization. The role offers a dynamic environment, ongoing training, and the chance to work with a range of cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
• Terraform, Python and GitHub Actions experience.
• Experience with Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Knowledge of IAM, AWS Organizations, SCPs and cloud governance.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud infra, CI/CD pipelines and deployment issues.
• Understanding of cloud security, vulnerability management and remediation.
• Experience handling production incidents and SLA-driven activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation, with a proactive, customer-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
• Practical experience with Terraform, Python and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Good knowledge of IAM, AWS Organizations, SCPs and cloud governance.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and deployment issues.
• Understanding of cloud security, vulnerability management and remediation.
• Experience handling production incidents, support requests and SLA-driven activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a proactive, customer-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector and Snyk.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud security best practices.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Experience working in DevOps or Cloud Platform Engineering teams.
• AWS certifications.
