Job summary

KCS IT, founded in Lisbon, seeks an IA Engineer for a hybrid role across Java/Python-based backend APIs and distributed systems. You will work with REST, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, and Kafka-like messaging systems. Cloud-native development with Docker/Kubernetes and AI agent integration is valued.

Fluency in Portuguese and English is required. We offer diverse projects, international exposure, and a flexible hybrid setup with remote and onsite options.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java or Python and building backend APIs.
• Experience with distributed systems, REST, and async/event-driven design.
• Familiar with Kafka or messaging systems and cloud-native development.
• Experience with MCP servers, AI agents and RAG pipelines is a plus.
• CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows and automated testing experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
