Job summary

Cloudflare in Lisbon/London hybrid is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Agentic Discovery team. You will define architecture, core protocols, and multi-team standards powering next-gen agent-web interactions.

As a senior technical leader, you will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps, and drive engineering excellence across edge infrastructure, data pipelines, and tooling. The role involves architecting high-throughput services, collaborating with PMs and customers, and leading incident

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable system architecture.
• Experience writing technical specifications and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Deep understanding of HTTP, APIs, proxies, caching, and web security.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents, tool calling, and MCP basics.
• Ability to partner with product managers and customers to navigate ambiguous problem spaces.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship high-throughput, resilient production services for agentic discovery.
• Define emerging agent protocols and integrations (MCP, WebMCP) and author architectural designs.
• Partner with product management, customers, and stakeholders to translate needs into requirements.
• Drive improvements in system health and observability; lead incident responses and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers, participate in governance, and contribute to hiring decisions.
