Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of agentic commerce capabilities that power payables and metering across Cloudflare’s network. This role focuses on architecture, high-throughput systems, and collaboration with product and customers.

You will define standards, review architecture, mentor engineers, and guide complex projects spanning multiple teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a hybrid work model across Lisbon or London.

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with expertise in building high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Experience defining product KPIs and translating requirements into architectural roadmaps.
• Strong background in distributed systems, HTTP, API design, and security concepts.
• Proven mentorship and incident-management capabilities across large teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build low-latency, scalable architectures for agentic payments and metering.
• Write RFCs and architecture documents for cross-team use.
• Engage with customers and Product Management to align requirements with architecture.
• Lead incident responses and drive remediation to reduce outages.
• Mentor engineers and improve engineering processes and standards.
