Axians Portugal is seeking an experienced Application Support professional to join a Production Support team responsible for stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. You will manage production environments, resolve incidents, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver IT services and long-term solutions.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting Java-based applications, DevOps deployments, monitoring, and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualificações

• Experience in Application Production Support for critical environments.

• Troubleshooting and performance optimization of Java-based applications.
• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of API gateway technologies.
• Solid Linux administration skills.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum practices.

• Monitor and maintain business-critical applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, adhering to ITIL and SLAs.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and external teams to implement solutions.
• Execute deployments, upgrades, patches, and change requests using DevOps tools and methodologies.
• Implement and optimize monitoring and observability practices to detect and resolve issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams to improve reliability and user experience.
• Participate in on-call support to ensure continuity of critical services.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Application Support to join a Production Support team responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business applications. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, capable of managing production environments, resolving incidents efficiently, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality IT services and long-term solutions.

What You Will Do On a Daily Basis

• Monitor and maintain business-critical applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Participate actively in incident, problem, and change management processes, following ITIL best practices and SLA requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and external teams to implement sustainable solutions.
• Execute deployments, upgrades, patches, and change requests using DevOps tools and methodologies.
• Implement and optimize monitoring and observability practices to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work closely with Scrum teams to improve application reliability and user experience.
• Participate in on-call support activities to ensure the continuity of critical services.

Your Key Skills

• Application Production Support in complex and critical environments.
• Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management following ITIL frameworks.
• Troubleshooting and performance optimization of Java-based applications.
• Monitoring and observability practices using modern monitoring platforms.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Your Main Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java Application Servers (Red Hat JBoss EAP) and Java performance troubleshooting (heap dump and thread dump analysis).
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of API Gateway technologies such as Axway or Apigee.
• Solid Linux administration experience (RHEL).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, or ELK.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools including GitLab, ArgoCD, Jenkins, and Nexus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Professional proficiency in Portuguese and English.
