Decskill is seeking an Android Developer for a hybrid project in São João da Madeira, Aveiro, Portugal. You will join a team focused on delivering high-quality mobile applications and RFID-related integrations.

You will develop and maintain reusable Android modules, integrate hardware SDKs (RFID, barcode), implement robust testing, CI/CD pipelines, and ensure performance and reliability in complex environments.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of experience in mobile development with native Android (Kotlin).
• Strong expertise in Android architecture and best practices.
• Experience integrating hardware SDKs (RFID, barcode, or scanning devices).
• Familiarity with MQTT and messaging systems.
• Good debugging, testing, and code review practices.
• Experience using GitHub and CI/CD workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain reusable RFID libraries and modules for Android apps.
• Integrate and stabilize RFID readers and barcode scanners SDKs.
• Implement reading processes optimized for reliability and performance.
• Diagnose issues related to app lifecycle and Kotlin state management.
• Define observability with logging, metrics and tracking.
• Ensure software quality through unit and instrumentation testing.
• Collaborate with Product teams to translate production issues into improvements.

We would like to meet an Android Developer for a project with a hybrid working model in São João da Madeira (Aveiro), Portugal.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in mobile development with strong expertise in native Android (Kotlin).
• Solid experience with Coroutines, Flows, and concurrency/state management.
• Proven experience integrating hardware SDKs (preferably RFID, barcode, or scanning devices).
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as MQTT.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex environments.
• Good practices in testing, code quality, and peer code reviews.
• Experience using GitHub and continuous integration workflows.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with industrial RFID devices (e.g., Zebra, Bluebird).
• Knowledge of EPC/GS1 standards and RFID filtering techniques.
• Experience with Clean Architecture / MVVM and modular codebases.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines and feature flags.
• Experience designing for offline-first or limited connectivity environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain reusable RFID libraries and modules for multiple Android applications.
• Integrate and stabilize SDKs for RFID readers, barcode scanners, and similar hardware devices.
• Implement reading processes optimized for consistency, reliability, and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve intermittent issues related to application lifecycle and state management (Kotlin).
• Define and maintain observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracking.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, instrumentation testing, and regression testing.
• Collaborate with Product teams to translate production issues into technical improvements.
• Continuously improve system robustness in real-world operational environments.
