Job summary

Nutrium, a Portugal-based company, is hiring an Android developer to join our mobile app used by over 100k users monthly. You will build new features, improve existing ones, and collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You should have hands-on Kotlin and Java experience, familiarity with MVVM or Clean Architecture, REST APIs, and a desire to learn and apply Firebase tools.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Android development with Kotlin/Java.
• Experience with Android architectures (MVVM/MVI/Clean).
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling multiple devices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Android app with high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver features on time.
• Participate in full feature lifecycle from implementation to deployment and improvements.
• Write clean, testable code and maintain code health.
• Stay updated with Android trends and tools and apply learnings.

What You Will Bring

You bring hands‑on experience in Android development and the motivation to contribute to a mobile app used by over 100,000 users every month. You're comfortable building new features and improving existing ones, working closely with the Engineering and Product teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.

With curiosity for the Android ecosystem and a strong focus on code quality and collaboration, you’re eager to keep learning, grow your skills, and make a meaningful impact on a product that supports healthier lives.

What You Will Be Doing

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Android app, following best practices and high-quality standards;
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to successfully deliver high-quality and on-time product features;
• Participate in the full feature lifecycle, from implementation to deployment and ongoing improvements;
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, contributing to the overall health of the codebase;
• Stay up to date with Android trends and tools, and apply relevant learnings to your work;
• Actively participate in code reviews, discussions, and team rituals, supporting a collaborative development environment.

You might be a great fit if you...

• Have hands-on experience with Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, and standard Android development tools;
• Are familiar with common Android architectures such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture;
• Have experience integrating and working with RESTful APIs;
• Have worked on Android applications that support multiple devices;
• Are familiar with the Google Play Console and the app release process;
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced product environment;
• Communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Have experience with or interest in using Firebase tools and services;
• Are fluent in Portuguese and English;
• Bonus: Are based in the north of Portugal (Braga/Porto);
• Have an "AI-native" mindset and are excited to bring intelligent tools into your everyday work.

Annual gross salary range

25.200€ - 39.200€, depending on your experience.
