Job summary

Shape.Construction is seeking an AI Engineer in Portugal to combine deep knowledge of Large Language Models with strong software engineering skills. You will help design, build and deploy AI-powered features across Shape App and Channels, collaborating with Product and SRE teams to ensure reliable production systems.

You should be excited by turning AI potential into real, useful features for construction teams, and you’ll work in a team focused on pragmatic, product‑driven AI development.

Qualifications

• Strong experience applying LLMs and generative AI to real-world problems.
• Solid foundation in Python and ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Transformers, OpenAI APIs).
• Production experience with embeddings, vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate or FAISS, and RAG architectures.
• Familiarity with MLOps tooling and observability for inference pipelines.
• Bias for simplicity, clarity, and iterative delivery.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, designers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design Lean, fit-for-purpose AI solutions for each use case.
• Integrate AI features into Shape App and Channels from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and SREs to ensure production readiness and reliability.
