Jobgether is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer – AI Architecture Research based in Portugal to research and build next-generation neural architectures, moving ideas from lab to scalable production.

You will design experiments, prototype models, and evaluate memory, latency, and compute trade-offs while collaborating closely with inference and systems engineers to turn research concepts into deployable solutions.

Qualificações

• Strong foundation in ML and DL fundamentals with practical model development experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing neural architectures from scratch.
• Understanding of attention, RNNs, state-space models, or hybrid approaches.
• Knowledge of training dynamics, scaling, and architecture performance.
• Experience with memory, latency, compute constraints and efficiency.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or JAX for research-oriented ML code.

Responsabilidades

• Research and develop novel neural network architectures beyond Transformers.
• Design architecture-level experiments on scaling laws and memory trade-offs.
• Prototype end-to-end models translating research concepts to training-ready code.
• Analyze model behavior, inductive biases, and failure modes.
• Collaborate with inference and systems engineers to enable deployment.
• Read, reproduce, and extend cutting-edge ML research and share results.
