Job summary

Carrier Addvolt in Porto, Portugal, seeks an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer to own supplier quality across the product lifecycle. The role combines project development QA with serial production oversight, coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, and Manufacturing to ensure launch readiness and ongoing supplier performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Advanced Supplier Quality, NPI or supplier industrialization, and is fluent in Portuguese and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience combining Advanced Supplier Quality, NPI or supplier industrialization with operational Supplier Quality or Supplier Development in an industrial environment.
• Hands-on ownership of supplier APQP and PPAP from project phase through launch.
• Ability to lead supplier process audits, technical reviews, corrective actions, and cross-functional escalations.
• Fluent Portuguese and English, spoken and written. Willingness to travel regularly to supplier sites.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality across the complete product lifecycle, upstream and downstream.
• Lead supplier APQP from sourcing through Start of Production, including feasibility and planning.
• Define PPAP scope and submission level with evidence and required documentation.
• Drive containment, escalation, and corrective actions for supplier non-conformities.
• Coach internal teams and suppliers on prevention-focused quality methods and risk-based decisions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Program Management to manage risk and readiness.
