Job summary

Essity is a global hygiene and health company seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Global Business Services team in Lisbon. You will handle end-to-end AP processes for a defined scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely posting while contributing to operational excellence.

You will collaborate across regions, support audits, drive process improvements, and coach colleagues. A Finance/Accounting degree, AP experience, SAP/ERP skills, and strong English are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field.
• Proven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
• Confident user of Office 365 tools with experience working in SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Collaborative and proactive professional who communicates clearly and adapts to change.
• Additional language skills are considered an advantage.
• Fluent in English; resumes should be in English.

About the role:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a key contributor within Essity’s Global Business Services organization, supporting a defined scope of the end-to-end accounts payable process. Your work will help ensure that financial transactions are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

You will operate in a dynamic, international environment where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement are highly valued. • Accounts Payable Processing: Execute global accounts payable activities for a defined area with accuracy, efficiency, and cost awareness.
• Invoice Management : Manage high-priority and complex invoices, ensuring timely resolution and correct posting.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and agreed ways of working.
• Operational Support: Support day-to-day functional activities, including training, coaching, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits and contribute to the resolution of audit findings.
• Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and standardization.
• Cross-Regional Collaboration: Provide operational and project support across regions in a matrix organization.”
• Automation Analysis : Identify automation and system improvement opportunities within Accounts Payable processes in Invoice Track to increase efficiency, accuracy, and standardization.

Who you are:
